Volunteer Opportunities Overview

We need your help!  Find the volunteer opportunity(ies) that interest and will work for you.  The PTA, our school, and more importantly our students need us, and with your help we can make it a great year!

  • Baking/Hospitality: Need individuals to bake staff appreciation treats. Volunteers may help coordinate, if desired.
  • Bingo Night: Call out Bingo numbers, check cards for Bingo.
  • Book Fair: Help set up/cleanup and work the cash registers during the book fair. Book fair is held in spring.
  • Carnival: Be a committee chair or simply assist the day of the carnival. Great fun is had for all.
  • Dads Club: Many opportunities to be involved with your child’s school. One day or on-going activities.
  • Dinner Nights: Coordinate fund raiser with local restaurants. Per centage of proceeds go back to school. Advertising done through PTA.
  • Field Day: Assist with games during our last fun week of school.
  • Jog-a-thon: Assist with tracking laps, handing out oranges/water, coordinate fund raising.
  • Lunch Supervision/Food Service: Parents are needed on a regular basis for one hour during lunch to supervise lunch lines or assist with stocking.
  • Red Ribbon Week/Health and Welfare: A national PTA program promoting healthy lifestyles and responsible decision making among children. A very worthwhile program!
  • Reflections Arts Program: A national PTA program encouraging and showcasing students’ original work in the fine and visual arts, literature, and music with an opportunity to compete at the regional and national level.
  • Room Parent: Coordinate collection of funds, gifts and parties for the class room.
  • Road Runners: Every Friday, help keep track of laps that the students run around the field. Track data by grade, and coordinate prizes.
  • Science Field Day/Olympiad: This is a terrific learning and mentoring experience with students working in teams in a wide variety of areas culminating in a regional competition in February (and hopefully the State competition in April/May). Materials are provided to allow the non-scientific to successfully coach an event.
  • Staff Appreciation: This includes a monthly breakfast or lunch for our wonderful staff and teachers plus, along with ASB and Leadership, a week long celebration of our staff with special treats and surprises.
  • 6th Grade Promotion: Fifth grade parents organize this event which takes place the last day of school. Volunteers coordinate the promotion, programs, and light refreshments.
  • Miscellaneous: Only have an hour or two to spare? Individuals will be contacted via e-mail or phone with opportunities to help on day of event or for occasional preparation. Excellent way to stay involved.
