Torrey Hills PTA President’s Message
2025-2026
Hello, Hawks Family!
My name is Melissa Jaramillo, and I’m honored to be your PTA President for the 2025-2026 school year. I am the proud mother of Fina a 7th grader at Carmel Valley Middle School and Neville a 3rd grader here at Torrey Hills. My husband, Chris, and I have been very grateful parent participants here since Fina was in Kindergarten!
The PTA is a partnership between parents, teachers, and staff—with the goal of improving every child’s learning experience here at Torrey Hills. We provide support inside and outside the classroom. Your contributions fund teacher mini-grants, student programs like lunch clubs and assemblies, community events, and additional resources. Our amazing board has been planning for the year ahead—but we can’t do any of it without you. Therefore, I have 4 requests for you:
First, consider becoming a PTA member so that you can vote and participate in decision making here at Torrey Hills.
Second, volunteer in a way that is meaningful for you. Hang out with students at lunch club once a week. Serve popcorn at movie night for 30 minutes. Copy flyers silently with your earbuds in. We have a spot that fits you!
Third, if it’s possible for your family, please contribute financially during our Readathon. This campaign at the end of September funds the majority of the PTA budget.
Fourth, (and this is the MOST important one) join in! Attend events. Linger a little longer at drop off and pick up. Come have fun with us!
We want to know your family and to facilitate community connection. If you see me around, please say hi, ask questions. The PTA Leadership and I are excited to join you in making this year amazing for the entire Torrey Hills community!
