Community Hike - April 12th

We are inviting families to take some time off screens and get out in nature - to walk and talk - and get to know each other at Torrey Hills. This first hike will be at Annie's Canyon.

Gather: 8:00am / Start Hike: 8:15am
Approximate Hike Duration:1.5-2 hours
What to Bring: Good Shoes, Water, Sunscreen, Snacks, and be dressed in Torrey Hills gear
What Not to Bring: Strollers or Dogs
Parking is on the street so plan ahead.
*This is not a drop off event - We want families to hike together!

Family Dinner Night -Tuesday April 15

Family Dinner Night at Shake Shack - Tuesday, April 15th
Grab some grub at our last Family Dinner Night of the school year. Mention DONATION DAY at the register or use promo code DONATE on the Shack App, web, or kiosk at checkout and Shake Shack donate 25% of your total meal purchase to Torrey Hills.

Walk ‘N’ Wednesdays 
To encourage walking, biking, or scooting to school throughout the school year students can pick up a card on Wednesday mornings and start to earn prizes for every five holes punched on their card​

Staff Appreciation Week - May 5th-9th

The Torrey Hills PTA is working to spoil our Staff with a cruise-themed Staff Appreciation Week (May 5-9, 2025). We would like to make some specific requests for support from our Torrey Hills Community. Our hope is to use as much of our budget on catered meals for the staff as possible. If families would contribute some of the other supplies we need, it would make a HUGE difference.

Monday, May 5 - Door Decor (More info in Wednesday folders)
Tuesday, May 6 - Postcards Across the Sea (More info in Wednesday folders)
Wednesday, May 7 - Flowers for your teacher(s) and Faculty Friend(s) ($1/flower sold in front of the school)
Thursday, May 8 - Wear your teacher's favorite color
Friday, May 9 - Bring a small gift or card to your teacher(s) and Faculty Friend(s)

Lunch Clubs

Lunch Clubs are happening every day of the week!​
The PTA has supplied carts, table tennis equipment, chess sets, art supplies, kinetic sand, and more! We have student-led, teacher-led, AND parent-led clubs. Lego Cart is a very easy job to sign up for. (We have all the supplies and you simply roll out the cart and enjoy the fun!) We would love more people to join us during lunch recess. There is demand to add another day of Chess Club or Table Tennis Club if we could get a few more volunteers to commit one day a week.

School Communications 

​Family Newsletter (Weekly)
Every Saturday, you will receive an email from Mrs. Domingo, your principal, with updates and important information. Remember, that Smore newsletters can be translated into many languages. Please take the time each week to review this information. This year, we will be consolidating the information from both our school and our PTA so that you have one email each week to review school and district updates.

PTA Newsletter (Monthly)
Our PTA will be sending out a monthly newsletter beginning in September. The Newsletter will be a way for us to share how we have been supporting our school and will provide updates for specific events. Periodically, we will send reminders for time sensitive events. 

District Communication
Please make sure your email address is correct in ParentVue so that you receive all school and district communications. They use PeachJar as their electronic flyer system. If you are new to DMUSD, no action is required on your part, you will receive a welcome email where you can determine your email preferences. All parents can determine and update your email preferences in the settings of PeachJar.
